Sport is an incredibly important activity to help balance out our highly stressful modern life. Living or working in the city is often hectic and sport can be a great way of letting off steam. Although there are many positives the reality is if you play sport there is a chance you could get injured.

Performing Arts is in a lot of ways very similar to sport, we put our bodies through a physical, often repetitive routine, with a tight deadline to achieve those perfect moves. As you exercise your muscles heavily or use them in a novel way a number of micro tears can appear in the structure of the muscle.
This is quite common; it is a natural part of building muscle fibre. They will normally simply repair themselves and we are none the wiser. However if we continually over use the muscle with no rest it doesn’t get time to repair and problems appear.
